Larry L. Oliver's art and Illustration
After receiving my B.A. in fine art at the University of California at Santa Cruz, I honed my skills by continuing to visually record anything which caught my interest. I soon realized that carrying a sketchbook with me at all times allowed me opportunites to capture periods of time and places I've been.

Essentially, I see myself as a portrait and figurative artist, with some leanings towards impressionism.
The medium most certainly affects my subject matter and the approach I take in capturing a place or mood.However, I'm always evolving those techniques and learning to capture what is not visually apparent. My greatest influences are nude figure photographers such as Ruth Bernhard and ManRay, as well as comic book illustrators like Frank Quitely and Phil Jiminez (to name a few).............
